I have had this item for a week now.

    - cheap at or around $100. Couldn’t find any LCD monitors that cheap in the stores.

    - no swivel that allows the screen to point up at varying degrees. So monitor is always perpendicular to the surface.

It is a 17 inch screen. If you can live with that size then this is a very good purchase. I kind of wish I would have spent another $50 to get a larger screen. Oh well.

EDIT: Upon further use, I noticed that the screen cannot go all black. When the screen is supposed to be black, the edges of the screen are lightened. Makes me think this is a shoddier product than I thought. Hence I bring the three stars down to two stars.

Of course, it is NOT a monitor which has a lot of funtions. But it is a wonderful choice for basic use. No problem at all.

Perfect for the small space I had available! Most new monitors are larger

so this moniter was ideal for me.

I trade every day and I use three 17″ monitors with my trading workstation. I had three ACER AL1716 monitors which did the job for me. One stopped working so I replaced it with this V173B because I could not find an AL1716 replacement. The screen on this monitor is clearer and brighter than my other 2. I had to practically turn off the brightnes setting to get it to match my other monitors and provide a smooth screen transition. If you don’t need a monitor with audio this is a terrific monitor at a great price.

I bought a new computer and wanted to get the old computer up and going for my kids, but didn’t want to spend alot of money on a new monitor. This was an excellant choice. Compact, great picture just a overall great monitor for the money.
