I was really looking forward to a large screen. However when this arrived I was disapointed. When the picture filled the screen it looked way to streched and out of proportion. By the time I had a good picture I could have easily had a much smaller screen. The sound from the speakers is terrible and it will not be long before I buy addition speakers for it.

Dont consider this item, its just not good enough

The screen is big and very bright. The lack of connections is a little annoying, but we all know that going into this thing. The speakers are one tick above useless. Do not buy this monitor because it has built in speakers. If I want to watch and listen to anything like TV or movies, I pull out my old pair of speakers from the drawer and plug them in. Bottom line, it’s OK for the price, but I’m thinking the 20 inch Dell is probably a better long term value.

As for the “power button” issue, I’ve only had to use it once…the first time I turned it on. It goes to sleep when the computer is off or on stand by, and that’s good enough for me.

    It’s nice and Wide.

The panel is sharp and clear.

The size is what sold me.

Will only use this brand and modle.

Wow…just got one of these at a great price, hooked it up to my Mac G4 via a DVID cable, and it boots up at native resolution (1680 x 1050) automatically – no muss, no fuss. Text is crisp and clean,

Within 18 months, the backlight failed – power button blue, screen black. It was sent off to be replaced under Fry’s extended warrantee – just the part was replaced, not the monitor. I’ve seen this occurrence on other reviews of similar HP models. Interestingly, nothing wrong with the power button itself… yet.

Edit: Now, approximately 21 months from the backlight replacement, it failed again. Out of the extended warrantee, it’s going to electronic waste disposal.
