The contrast and flickering are worse than on any other LCD I’ve tried in the past 5 or 10 years. I do not know if the other reviewers have not compared it to other newish monitors, or if I just got a lemon. The flickering in new LCDs comes from a backlight but most people do not notice it because it is usually well over 100 Hz. This one’s flickering is also over 100 Hz, but combined with the lack of deep blacks (bad contrast) it really hurts my eyes to use it for more than an hour. It appears washed out. No settings adjustments were able to bring it up to par with other monitors. Even my old CRT is better and easier to look at.

This is a great affordable monitor by Hewlett-Packard! A big screen compared to the 15″ monitor it replaced! The tray it sits on allows for holding of pencils, pens, pins, gym clips, credit cards, coins or whatever you may be working with at your computer and need to keep close at hand. I haven’t had a problem with it! Five stars!

We bought this monitor after searching for this size in several stores and found this offering to be the best buy.

This is a good overall standard/workhorse monitor for the workplace environment. We use these in our on site laboratory where there is not enough space for a larger monitor. They last a long time, have few bells & whistles but also get almost no complaints.
