It would have been nice to know that the monitor was coming from J.R.’s, not Amazon. They waited a week before telling me it was out of stock and had no idea when (or even if) it would be back in stock. I would suggest if anything like this is out of stock, cancel the order and go to your local electronics store.

I got this monitor to replace a CRT. I should have went with another CRT. Viewing the desktop at 1920 x 1080 splits my head open with eye strain and pain, everything is too small. Changing to a larger size makes the desktop blurry and videos play terrible. The screen is washed out, colors are not accurate even after using Pantone’s Huey to calibrate the screen. Watching video on this screen is not very impressive, the refresh rate is slow enough where you can see pixelation throughout the video images, very annoying. It’s OK for the money if you use it for something benign like word processing but don’t bother if you are serious about photography. I’m going to have to save my money and buy another CRT. I cannot live with this monitor it hurts my eyes too much. Plus, one stuck pixel in brilliant red….LOL!!!

Despite the clarity, there are white bleeds on the top and bottom of the display! If I wanted to watch something from a distance further then the chair I’m now sitting on, that becomes far more prevalent!

Be careful for what you want this display for. I bought it for the 1080p Full HD angle of which I will be upgrading my computer soon for… but now…

Chose this Monitor over many others in the same ctegory and price range because of great expirience with Viewsonic Monitors and the quality it brings in

for the price, making it the best value for the money spent.

I bought this monitor for $169 new on Amazon. It works flawlessly for what I need it for, which is the monitoring of my CCTV system. I did not know the monitor included speakers built in, which is fantastic for me. I was going to have to go out and buy speakers for it. While they are not great, not for watching movies, they work perfect for my CCTV system. I’d say if you need a high end monitor, look elsewhere, but if you’re not doing graphic design, gaming or watching movies, then this might be perfect for you.
